Global Best Practise
"Social investment activities extend beyond the health and wellbeing of our own employees..."
SOCIAL investment activities extend beyond the health and wellbeing of our own employees, with community access to our hospitals and clinics where no such government or privately-provided facilities exist. A case in point is in Zambia where we run modern medical facilities, including a newly-upgraded hospital at the centre with four satellite clinics serving 16 000 people at specific locations across the estate.
Zambia’s Integrated Malaria Control and HIV and AIDs programmes were recently recognised by the Zambian Ministry of Health for maintaining malaria-positive incidents below 5% and for its adherence to standard procedures on HIV and AIDS interventions and treatment. In addition, our malaria control programme in Zambia has been recognised as global best practice by Global Roll Back Malaria, the World Bank and the Gates Foundation.
