"Eston's New Packing Station Shapes Up"

CONSTRUCTION of a new packing station at Eston Mill started in mid August 2013 after the relocation of facilities – including the diesel tanks, waste management area, perimeter fence and trees – that stood in the way of the construction site. Underground construction work entailed rerouting storm water drains. Excavation for the steel column foundation, as well as filling and levelling the area which includes the new turning circle for the trucks, followed.

When completed, the packing station will have storage space for up to 400 tons of product. It will accommodate 1 ton and 25 kg bag production lines - two machines will produce 1 ton bags while one machine will produce 25 kg bags. Completion is currently estimated by April 2014 and it is envisaged that production will commence by the end of May 2014.
