E-Learning Campus Goes Group-Wide
"E-Learning Campus Goes Group-Wide"
ILLOVO Sugar’s own version of the AB Sugar Learning Campus, an online training and development tool, has been implemented at all operations across Illovo. ‘Learning kiosks’ have been set up to facilitate employees’ use of the Campus.
Group MD Gavin Dalgleish says: “This AB Sugar Learning Campus is a key enabler in driving best practice implementation across the Illovo Group. It represents an exciting new virtual learning platform and I urge you to maximise the potential it offers you for ongoing personal skill development.”
There are currently some 35 modules covering a variety of topics such as Introduction to Making Sugar, Safety Induction, Food Safety, and a variety of factory operations modules. The majority of modules have assessments, the successful completion of which results in the awarding of a certificate.
Some modules are part of the Induction Programme for all new joiners, others are part of the training of a variety of trainees, including graduates on Illovo’s MIT (managers-in-training) programme.
Modules are aimed at a specific target population relevant to competence requirements for particular jobs. However, all employees are encouraged to make use of this excellent interactive training resource. This is particularly so for those in the various service functions, to give them insight into the Core operations of the business.
For information on how to register, employees should speak to their HRD officer.
